Suitable for use under 2K basecoat / solid colour refinishing systems. Properties Versatile easily used product. May be tinted up to 10% with compatible 2K tinters. Excellent adhesion Very high build Corrosion resistance Good flow. Good sanding. Suitable Substrates Properly prepared bare metal, fibre-glass, body filler, and original current vehicle finishing systems. TPA finishes (Thermoplastic acrylic) should be isolated first. In all cases the surface must be clean and free of grease and oil etc. Mixing 1) For use as a HIGH BUILD SPRAY FILLER 4 parts 2K PRIMER FILLER 1 part 2K PRIMER FILLER Hardener 2) For use as a PRIMER/SURFACER 4 parts 2K PRIMER FILLER 1 part 2K PRIMER FILLER Hardener 1 part 2K Thinner Fast Mix the base and hardener before adding the required amount of thinner. Allow the mixed base and hardener to stand for a minimum of 15 minutes at 20 oC, Longer in cooler weather, this helps to ensure that the full potential of the coating is realised. Notes 1. As these are two component reactive materials, only mix sufficient for the immediate job. 2. Do not use other hardeners in 2K PRIMER/FILLER. 3. Use of slow & normal 2K thinners will contribute to longer drying & sanding times. These products should only be used when spraying large areas or in hot conditions. 2K Hardener lids must be resealed tightly after use to prevent reaction with moisture in the atmosphere. Application (1) For use as a HIGH BUILD SPRAY Using a gravity feed spray gun at 275-410 kPa (40-60 psi) and a 2mm nozzle set up. Spray up to three coats allowing 10-15 minutes flash-off between coats. (Allow longer in cooler weather.) (Approximately 50-60 microns per coat) Note: Do not bake. Air dry overnight. (2) For use as a 2K PRIMER/SURFACER (Approximately 25 microns per coat) Using a suction spray gun at 275-410 kPa (40-60 psi) and a 1.7 to 2.7 mm nozzle setup. Apply up to 3 coats allowing a 10-15 minutes flash-off between coats. If Baking is required, allow 20-30minutes flash off. (Longer in cooler weather.) Drying Time 1) HIGH BUILD SPRAY FILLER Allow overnight drying at room temperature before sanding with P600-P800 paper. Wet sanding must be undertaken with care. Ensure that all moisture is removed before finishing coats are applied. Water trapped in the film could lead to loss of gloss & delamination. The coating may be baked at low heat to assist drying, but should not be done before 4 hours drying at room temperature. Baking is not recommended for high film build obtained with this coating and could result in solvent-boil from the curing film. 2) PRIMER /SURFACER Air dry 15-20 minutes at 20-25 Degrees C Force dry 30 minutes at 60 Degrees C Notes 1. Ensure Primer/Filler is fully cured and dry before over–coating or refinishing. Pot Life 1.5 hours at 20 oC (Less at elevated temperatures) High humidity can reduce the pot life of the coating. Do not use of this coating when the relative humidity is 80% or above. Pot Life : ~ 1.5 hours at 20° C. Clean Up: Use GP Thinners within the pot-life period. Storage Always replace the lid securely after use & store in a cool dry place.
